A New Trip to Stepp Cemetery - July 19, 2008
We revisited Stepp Cemetery once again, although this time DNR (Department of Natural Resources) came and asked us to leave after only a few moments. The gentleman did allow us to take a few photos because he was interested in what we were doing. There were the usual orbs and strange faces in mists, although these are usually explained away by natural causes or tricks of the light. A few did stand out - one in particular is a strange shade of red orange and is not perfectly round. There is also some small shiny object in a few of the pictures (near the stump), but it very well may be a metallic object or piece of trash buried in the grass where we didn’t see it ourselves. It seems to appear in the same location if you consider the changing direction of the photos. Also as usual in Stepp, we felt a great sense of peace and relaxation upon entering the cemetery proper…after several group members’ experiences of anxiety or mild discomfort on the pathway in. This is very common in our visits there, and we believe that the cemetery welcomes us. We have also discussed the possibility of a ley line running underneath Stepp.
On another note, this was the first night of investigation for a new member. She first took us to a place that had had significant activity in the past when she lived nearby, but we found no evidence of this continuing as of now. The building in question has been torn down, so it is possible that the activity was connected to it and is no more now that it is gone. It is also possible that it was a personal experience or did not make a lasting imprint. She wa a little nervous about Stepp as she doesn’t particularly like woods, but by the end felt very playful, almost as if she were one of the young children whose graves reside in the cemetery.
I do have to say that MAGI has been lucky in its encounters with law enforcement or similar. This gentleman was genuinely interested and would have let us stay longer, but he had been woken by another call and had only happened upon us…so he wanted to return to bed, understandably. I think, however, that our polite and cooperative manner goes a long way, not to mention the equipment we have to back ourselves up. Personally, I hope that one day MAGI will be allowed into more off-limits locations, but until then, we have to respect requests to leave, even though we are not doing any damage and are being extremely respectful. Always keep this in mind if you choose to go out.
Pictures up soon. Hopefully we’ll be out again in the near future!
